We are in the final stages of developing a system to monitor the health of furnace burners on a Copper Continuous Casting Mill. The system will automatically detect common burner problems and then alert furnace operators before they cause serious problems. Included below are images obtained by FurnaceCam in one of our tests.
System includes: -Protective Camera Enclosure which provides active cooling using filtered plant air. -Self aligning mount features: 1. Enclosure rotates out of the way so the burner can be easily viewed and serviced by furnace operators. 2. Enclosure can be easily removed by disconnecting service lines and removing the hinge pin. 3. An aligning bracket which stays connected to the burner allowing the camera to be reconnected without realignment. -All required conduit, cooling tubing, filtering, and signal and power lines. -Image Acquisition and Display system Includes: 1. Computer 2. 37" Monitor allowing burner images and health to be easily viewed at a glance from a distance. 3. User configured image logging system, enables users to save images in their preferred format. 4. Image recognition software which will automatically detect common burner problems and alerts the user via alarms. (still under development-see below for a sample)
